Jumicar Road Safety Project, Haynes Motor Museum, Feb 2009

This new project run by Time out Together teaches road safety awareness by letting children drive the cars round a track simulating a real road conditions with traffic lights etc. It will be offered to local schools and can be set up in the playground. A grant of £2500 was awarded as a conribution towards the total project cost of £11,000.

Haselbury Plucknett Park 2009

A grant of £3000 was awarded as a contribution towards the total cost of £30,000 for the provision of two new pieces of play equipment for the park (Climbing Frame and Kickwall).

St Peters Church Hall

Cafe Izaya is a youth project based at St. Peter's Church, Yeovil. They run drop in sessions in the cafe, youth groups and their very own Rock Academy. To help with renovations the Association granted £5,000.

Yew Tree Park, Yeovil

SSDC and YTC have spent £160,000 on a regeneration programme for this popular play area. We contributed £5,000 for the purchase of the Buddy Swing. Our pictures show the swing with committee member Clive Seaton and Chairman Tim Chappell (right) at the official opening 22 May 2010.

St Margaret's Somerset Hospice Yeovil

A grant of £5,500 was awarded in March 2010 to purchase a Bladder Scanner for the Yeovil Hospice. This state of the art piece of equipment negates the need for patients to be catheterised. Picture shows Tim Chappell Chairman presenting the Scanner to Ann Lee Director of Nursing and a Staff Nurse.

Sutton Bingham Canoe Club

This club now has 170 members and in 2005 we supported them with a grant of £1000 to help build the boat shed.  We awarded a further grant in 2008 for £2500 to enable them to upgrade the canoe fleet.

Freewheelers Emergency

We gave £1,500 to the Freewheelers emergency services to enable them to purchase an upgraded motorbike.

Merriott Bowling Club

Celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2009 by opening a new pavilion , we gave them a £1000 contrbution towards the total cost.

New Changing Rooms Opened November 2008. The Wellbeing of Yeovil Charity gave £5000 towards the total project cost of £100,000.
